Phase 2 of the HCG Diet - Rapid Weight Loss Phase (23 - 40 days)

HCG Diet Phase 2 Begins Once:

1) You have completed 3 - 7 days of HCG Phase 1, and
2) After you have started HCG injections or HCG drops

HCG Phase is also known as the Rapid Weight Loss Phase. Phase 2 produces dramatic weight loss that is incredibly satisfying for the dieter and almost unbelievable for everyone else. This 2nd Phase of the diet usually begins after 3 days of "bear eating" in HCG Phase 1, but could be as late as the 7th day for dieters who have severely damaged their metabolism from yo-yo dieting.

For many, believing and accepting the rapid weight loss that occurs with Phase 2 of the HCG Diet is perhaps the most difficult concept to understand in the HCG Diet. This isn't surprising, since we've all been taught to lose 1-2 pounds per week, then suddenly a diet claims to produce that type of weight loss every day!

HCG Phase 2

Those who ignore the skeptics and try the HCG Diet find they rapidly lose weight without excessive hunger. Men tend to average a little over a pound per day, while women can expect to lose about 1/2 to 1 pound per day. The weight loss is more dramatic in the beginning and tends to slow during the last week.

In HCG Phase 2, the intake of HCG continues, but a VLCD (Very Low Calorie Diet) of 500 calories replaces the heavy eating from Phase 1. For many, a diet so low in calories seems impossible to achieve; however, because of the HCG, thousands of calories are released for energy as fat is burned from areas all over the body and hunger is eliminated.

The most important concept to understand about HCG Phase 2 is how incredibly reactive the body is to any variance away from the eating plan. It is CRITICAL that every part of the HCG Diet is followed exactly. Even the smallest changes can produce large gains in weight and set back additional weight loss for almost 3 days.

HCG Phase 2

HCG Phase 2 Eating Plan:

Phase 2 Breakfast: Tea or coffee in any quantity without sugar. One tablespoonful of milk per day. Saccharin or Stevia may be used as sweeteners.

Phase 2 Lunch: 3.5 oz (100g) weighed raw of veal, beef, chicken breast without bone, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp with all visible fat removed. No additional fat or sprays can be used to boil or grill food. Salmon, eel, tuna, herring, dried or pickled fish are not allowed.

HCG Diet Phase 2 Recipes

Phase 2 Vegetable: One choice from Asparagus, onions, tomatoes, spinach, celery, cucumbers, cabbage, green salad, chard, chicory, beet-greens, fennel, or red radishes.

Phase 2 Fruit: One choice of an apple, orange, handful of strawberries or 1/2 of a grapefruit.

Phase 2 Breads: One bread stick (grissino) or one Melba toast (20 calorie variety).

Phase 2 Condiments and spices: Salt, pepper, chili powder, mustard powder, garlic, sweet basil, parsley, thyme, majoram and other spices may be used for seasoning. Vinegar and the juice of one lemon daily are allowed. No oils, dressings or commercial spice mixes (contain cornstarch and sugar).

No more than four items listed for lunch or dinner may be eaten at one meal.

Phase 2 Drinks: 2 liters min./day. Coffee, tea, water or mineral water in any quantity.
Phase 2 Dinner: Same choices as lunch, but vary your choices to create variety.
Phase 2 Snacks: Fruit or bread stick may be eaten as a snack instead of as part of the meals.
